Short Course on Multilevel Adaptive Methods: June 30 ~ July 18

Week 1: Mesh Adaptivity: from Dream to Reality(RUO LI)
  1. The basic algorithm of the moving mesh method based on harmonic mapping
  2. The extension of the moving mesh method and its application to different PDEs
  3. The isotropic local refinement and coarsening algorithm based on the hierarchical data structure
  4. The basic coding technique based on AFEPack
  5. The implementation of moving mesh method based on AFEPack
  6. The implementation of local refinement and coarsening based on AFEPack
Week 2: Multilevel iterative method(LONG CHEN)
  1. A brief introduction to finite element and mesh adaptation
  2. Subspace correction method
  3. Multilevel method on quasi-uniform grids
  4. Multilevel method on adaptive bisection grids
  5. The auxiliary space method
Week 2: Adaptive Finite Element Methods(JUN HU)
  1. A posteriori error estimates of standard FEMs for the model problem
  2. A posteriori error estimates for Stokes and linear elasticity problems
  3. A posteriori error estimates for nonstandard finite element methods
  4. The basic coding technique based on AFEPack
  5. Convergence of adaptive FEMs
  6. Optimal convergence of adaptive FEMs
